The casting structure and technical requirements of the forklift steering axle were introduced, according to the structural characteristics of the casting, two process schemes were preliminarily formulated, and the numerical simulation software ProCAST was used to analyze the possible position of shrinkage porosity and shrinkage porosity in the casting, and the process was optimized according to the simulation analysis results, and the side risers were added on the left and right sides of the top of the casting, and it was found that the concave at the top of the casting disappeared completely, and the shrinkage porosity and shrinkage porosity defects were also improved to a certain extent. It is found that increasing the pouring temperature can significantly improve the quality of castings, and when the pouring temperature is 1 400 degree , the steering axle castings with better performance can be obtained, while the larger pouring speed will increase the defect tendency of castings.
